Shelby Fitzpatrick presents a new jewellery collection made specially for The Gallery this March. Shelby’s jewellery is marked by quality, colour and style. Chain Reaction features a rainbow collection of jewellery made from laser cut plastic, based on emerald cut shapes and facets, offering fun and playful adornment. Though originally from the USA, where she trained as a ceramicist and textile artist, Shelby moved to the UK to study silversmithing and jewellery at Kent Institute of Art and Design.
Shelby Fitzpatrick, 2021My work has always been about exploring new approaches and this latest perspex jewellery combines colour with a sense of fun. You will find laser-cut shapes of frosted perspex that overlap and flow into other colours, all beautifully light and wearable.
Based near Canterbury, Shelby is surrounded by a garden for all seasons that provides never-ending inspiration. This collection features interesting colour pairings and subtle variations in design and construction, resulting in a collection of necklaces and earrings that are all wonderfully light to wear.
Enjoy our short handling film below featuring four of Shelby’s unique designs.
