2016 marked the centenary of Robin Philipson’s birth and The Scottish Gallery are marking this event with a major retrospective on the artist. He was a significant and influential presence on the Scottish art scene for more than three decades, and was closely associated with other Edinburgh School figures such as Anne Redpath and William Gillies.
Robin Philipson first showed with the Scottish Gallery in 1954 and we were thrilled to host this exhibition in 2016 to honour one of Scotland’s most important painters.
