Christina Jansen and Guy Peploe made a short road trip to the Highlands last week, on the trail of Jock McFadyen’s Somewhere in the Hebrides, which has recently been acquired for The Highland Cinema in Fort William.

They happened upon exceptional weather and they were able to appreciate the majesty and outstanding beauty of the landscape near Roshven, which overlooks the islands of Rum and Eigg.

There are a number of landscape paintings by Jock McFadyen included in his recent exhibition Lost Boat Party which have been inspired by the Highlands and Islands in and around Mallaig.

The next time Christina and Guy visit the Highlands, they are going to journey by train which is considered by many to be the most scenic rail journey in the world, the West Highland Line leaves Glasgow behind and delves deep into the wild west coast.
