Join us on Social Saturday and Meet the Artists on 27 July from 11am – 1pm with sculptor Andrea Geile, painters Pascale Rentsch and Sheila Anderson-Hardy and Gallery Garden designer Alex Knubley. There is no need to book for this event.
Andrea Geile is a trailblazing sculptor, renowned for her innovative work in Corten steel, a material which has become synonymous with her distinctive style. This summer, visitors will encounter Geile’s sculptures both outdoors and within the gallery space itself. Consequently, everything within this exhibition becomes part of Geile’s sculptural garden, blurring the lines between art and environment.
Pascale Rentsch is an award winning Swiss-born artist living in East Lothian, Scotland, where she makes the most of her surrounding countryside, hills and coastlines. She draws and paints en plein-air, directly from nature in all conditions. Rentsch will be in painting live in The Gallery garden as part of our Social Saturday event.
Sheila Anderson-Hardy is a full time painter based in the Scottish Borders. She combines Sumi-e ink washes, watercolour and collage to depicts landscape, verges and hedgerows and her encounters with the wildlife that inhabit these spaces. Her work is densely layers and delicately drawn. We are delighted to showcase her extraordinary talent in The Gallery for the first time this summer.
Alex Knubley is an artist and horticulturist. For several years she has helped to create a wild and informal gallery garden that is always evolving. The sanctuary in The New Town that she has built with Andrea and us is a constant source of joy and inspiration. We invite you to meet the artist behind these beautiful spaces to discuss all things gardening!
