Colin Brown

In my previous solo exhibitions with The Scottish Gallery, I focused primarily on urban subjects in Days in Europa (2020) and botanical themes in Primavera (2022). In Days in Europa, I celebrated the spirit of contemporary European society and culture, while in Primavera, my work increasingly turned towards nature and environmental concerns. For my current series, I bring these two themes together, creating urban/botanical hybrid paintings that combine a celebration of the nature around us with a deep concern for the damage we are inflicting on the planet. – Colin Brown
