Across the UK, creativity is striking back as Degree Shows 2021 highlight the talent and innovation of recent graduates in spite of the pandemic. The Royal College of Art puts Creativity as a Universal Language at the heart of their mission statement and Degree shows across Scotland have produced both digital and real graduate shows. In the meantime, we congratulate all the students who have bravely worked on despite the challenges. Below we give access and insight to the Scottish degree shows as well as the RCA, London.
Edinburgh College of Art Degree Show 2021
This year’s Edinburgh College of Art graduates have faced unprecedented challenges in realising and presenting their work but they have met these head-on with creativity, intelligence, resilience and hope for the future. The Glasgow school of art graduate showcase 2021
The digital Showcase features work by graduating students from all undergraduate and 2-year postgraduate programmes across the Schools of Design, Fine Art and Simulation & Visualisation and Innovation School, and Stage 3, 4 and 5 students in The Mackintosh School of Architecture. Graduates will continue to add new work to their profiles for 12 months, offering the opportunity to showcase their professional practice.

This year’s digital platform showcases the exciting and inspiring projects from graduating artists and designers across a range of disciplines including painting, contemporary art practice, fashion and textiles, communication design, photography and three-dimensional design. The Digital Degree Show will open to the public with a launch event on Friday 9 July, with a full programme of online events throughout the degree show week.

The RCA’s renowned graduate exhibition is taking place online as a digital discovery platform complemented, where possible, by a festival of physical satellite events around London from the end of June through the summer and beyond. Each student has their own page, and RCA2021 allows you to explore creative work through traditional pathways, such as by programme, school or artist, and also through themes and collections.
