Emily Sutton’s Tea Party & Book Signing
Friday 30 October | 11am–12.30pm
We are bringing a little Yorkshire charm to The Scottish Gallery! Join us for a very special tea party with the wonderful Emily Sutton, who is travelling from York to celebrate her new exhibition, Animals Everywhere.
Expect a proper tea party with beautiful vintage china, delicious biscuits from the famous Bettys of York, with packaging illustrated by Emily herself, and plenty of delightful things to discover. We will also have an exclusive sneak preview of Emily’s new cups for Emma Bridgewater, soon to be released, alongside a selection of her much-loved illustrated books, available to purchase and have personally signed.
Emily’s enchanting world is filled with animals, gardens, old-fashioned shops and the everyday things that so often go unnoticed. Her new exhibition brings together beautiful watercolours, drawings and a wonderful collection of embroideries, returning to a medium she first explored while studying at Edinburgh College of Art. This is a rare opportunity to meet Emily, ask about her work, browse her books and enjoy a rather lovely morning surrounded by her art. Bring a friend and join us for tea, biscuits and a little bit of magic!
Everyone welcome!
Please note that The Gallery is on two floors, which is accessed by sets of stairs. Our Garden is open during fair weather only.
