Everyone Welcome

Join us for a special Saturday opening with Matthew Draper as we celebrate the opening of The Small Isles, his first major solo exhibition since 2021.

Eigg, Muck, Rum and Canna are islands that capture the imagination and hold a special place in the hearts of so many who love Scotland’s west coast. Matthew has spent two years returning to these familiar yet constantly changing landscapes, observing the weather, light and atmosphere, and translating what he sees into beautiful works in chalk pastel and charcoal. From gathering storms and passing rain to sudden shafts of sunlight, his work captures the extraordinary moods of these much-loved islands.

Come and meet Matthew, hear about his journeys and discover the stories behind his new work. This is a wonderful opportunity to spend time with the artist and explore an exhibition that celebrates the beauty and drama of Scotland’s west coast.

Join us for coffee from 11am, followed by a toast to the artists at noon. We will have live music from Roland Fraser and perhaps a few subtle Halloween surprises!

Everyone welcome.  The Gallery is open until 2pm.

Please note that The Gallery is on two floors, which is accessed by sets of stairs. Our Garden is open during fair weather only.
