The Scottish Gallery is pleased to welcome Hannah Mooney for her first solo exhibition at The Scottish Gallery, Notes from the West. Hannah graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 2017. She keeps a studio in Glasgow, but most of her time is spent between Counties Mayo and Donegal, where she was raised, surrounded by nature. Her primary subject is the landscape and seascapes of the West Coast of Ireland. Painting largely en plein air her work is deeply rooted in traditional landscape painting, with focused engagement on the relationship between light and the land, capturing an essential atmosphere of time and place.
