This December, we are delighted to present one of Scotland’s most promising New Contemporaries - Lauren Bowman.
Born in the midlands in 1990, Bowman graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2013 and has moved from strength to strength ever since. She has taken part in a variety of group shows, including RSA: New Contemporaries 2014, where she was awarded the Art in Healthcare Purchase Prize and the RSA Landscape award, as well as the National Open Art Competition 2014, where she was awarded The Prudential Award for Young Artists. In 2016 her work was selected to be a part of the inaugural W. Gordon Smith painting prize exhibition.
This collection of work is the first solo exhibition Bowman has presented since graduating. Her drawings are extraordinarily detailed, and her methods labour intensive, making this body of work a triumph for this promising young talent.
