Mary Bourne

In the video below, sculptor Mary Bourne discusses the materials and tools she uses to create sculptures from stone.

Gus Fisher

During 2020, we invited some of our artists to take part in Great Scots in Isolation – a series of short, 1-2 minute films made by a wide range of artists represented by The Scottish Gallery during the UK Covid-19 lockdown. Gus Fisher made a wonderful video, showing the process of making a new slate artwork.

Gillian Forbes

Based in Glenfarg in Perthshire, Gillian Forbes creates unique hand-carved pieces in a wide variety of British stone. The inspiration for her carving is drawn mostly from the natural world that surrounds her in rural Perthshire.

Zoe Wilson

Stone carver and artist, Zoe Wilson, graduated from the Diploma Architectural Stone Carving in 2016, before the course was validated as a BA (Hons) degree. In this short video, Zoe explains what she values from her time at the Art School.

Impressions in Stone runs until 26 Feb 2022, and can be explored courtesy of our Viewing Rooms here.
