Witty, warm and unapologetically naughty, Katrin Moye truly is a potter like no other. She doesn’t beat around the bush or shy away from things considered ‘taboo’ – nudity, bums, menopause, historic words for genitals – you name it, she’s made it!
Her bold, colourful ceramics riff on an Italian Renaissance style called maiolica, characterised by bright, colourful decoration and tin glaze. Poking fun at tradition, she blends historical shapes and decorative techniques with literature, 18th-century dirty jokes and the present day (😏) – all with a glimmer in her eye, and a cheeky wink of course. 😉
