BIRTHDAY FLOWERS FOR DAME ELIZABETH BLACKADDER

Dame Elizabeth Blackadder celebrates her 89th birthday this month and she has been exhibiting continuously with The Scottish Gallery since her first show here in 1961. Our forthcoming exhibition features her floral, garden and botanical work in watercolour and print. This much loved subject has been a constant, enriched by travel to Japan and Malaysia but chiefly inspired by her garden in Edinburgh, planted to provide flowers for the studio for most of the year.

THE SCOTTISH GALLERY & CRAFT SCOTLAND SELECTS

This September, The Scottish Gallery and Craft Scotland are collaborating to present an exhibition which brings together a selection of makers based in Scotland, many of whom have either trained at Scottish art schools or have been represented by The Scottish Gallery for the span of their professional careers. Many disciplines are explored by makers specialising in ceramics, glass, sculpture, tapestry, jewellery and metalwork as we celebrate the wealth of talent that Scotland has to offer.
