HRH Prince Philip at The Scottish Gallery

20 Apr 2021

HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, was a great friend of the painter Earl Haig (1918-2009).

The following images capture a visit to The Scottish Gallery in 1981, at its Castle Street location, to see his friend's latest exhibition. He enjoyed a tour of The Gallery which also included an exhibition by the ceramicist Jennifer Lee. Prince Philip was a great patron of the arts and acquired emerging talent regularly from The Royal Scottish Academy Summer Show.

The Scottish Gallery offers our condolences to Her Majesty The Queen in the passing of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
