While this work was evolving I realised it could be a metaphor for the devastation of war and conflict and the aspiration for peace and reconciliation. – John Creed

John Creed initially studied at Liverpool College of Art before completing part-time study at Sheffield College of Art. Creed has won numerous awards and was elected a Fellow of the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths in 2008 and awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Letters, DLitt, by the University of Glasgow in 2024. His interest is across the whole spectrum of metalwork; from one-off site specific projects within the field of architecture, sculpture as public art or for the garden, to small objects for the home such as a hat and coat stand, music stand, fruit dish, or silverware for the meal table.
