          Linda Farquharson

          Born: 1963
          Place of Birth: Aberdeen

          Linda studied Illustration at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, graduating BA (Hons) in 1986. She specialised in relief printmaking and continues to work primarily with lino printing and wood engraving. For many years she worked as a commercial artist, based in Edinburgh, while also exhibiting her prints nationally. Recent commissions include W. B. Yeats’ Irish Fairy and Folk Tales (for The Folio Society 2007) and Sir Walter Scott’s The Lady of The Lake (for The Association for Scottish Literary Studies 2010). Now based in Highland Perthshire, her work remains infused with the outdoor world and inspiration is never very far from her back door. In 1988 she had her first solo exhibition and she has continued to exhibit throughout the UK ever since.

          Her prints are found in many corporate collections, including:

          The Royal Bank of Scotland; Touche Ross & Company; The Bank of Scotland;
          Western General Hospital Trust; Edinburgh Fund Managers; East Lothian NHS Art Fund; The Scottish Office; Paintings in Hospitals Scotland; Arts & Theatres Trust Fife; The Royal Academy Library; Manchester Metropolitan University; House of Lords, London; Trinity College Library, Hartford, CT; The Lillie Art Gallery, Milngavie
