"I employ a variety of mixed media to explore human histories, random and specific mark making, urban imagery, and handwritten and printed script. My paintings implement urban tones and are normally created on wood panel. Through my use of collaged materials, I celebrate the reusable and the found."

"I approach each work by marking a series of ‘reference points’, which develop as I build up the surface in layers. Gradually a dialogue between the painting and myself is established, and a definite direction is formed. I allow the work to develop naturally year upon year, sometimes revisiting locations or conducting additional research. By infusing direct reference with memory, narrative and allegory, each picture assumes a significance that is at once deeply personal and open to interpretation. Ultimately, my work aims to capture the spirit of modern society. The continent of Europe continues to fascinate me, and has proven a major source of inspiration for my new series of paintings Days in Europa."
