Acclaimed jewellery designer Marianne Anderson graduated from The Glasgow School of Art in 2003. Working within a restrained palette of oxidised silver, 18ct gold, red garnets and white pearls she creates sumptuous and wearable collections that reference ornamental detailing.
‘Ornamental Beauty is an exploration of how we decorate ourselves and our surroundings with ornamental motifs that repeat themselves through history and across cultures. This recent body of work is firmly rooted in Venice, the history of the architecture and its mix of classical influences. For example, compositions of ornamentation and architectural forms made in metal are mixed with the colours and textures of the city’s walls in enamel.’ – Marianne Anderson
