Kate Blee is an artist internationally recognised for her work with textile. Unpredictable Life will include painted cloth, tapestry and sculpture. She is a passionate materialist and colourist and her work is dynamic – encompassing movement, forces and interactions.
Painted cloth hangs from single points and come to rest on brick plinths. Her sculpture focuses on folds and tears in cloth left after various domestic actions – dropped in buckets, on shelves, hanging. Initially trained at Edinburgh College of Art, Kate Blee lives and works in London and her work is held in numerous public collections including the V&A, London.
