Henri Gaudier-Brzeska

Henri Gaudier-Brzeska was one of the most original and dynamic artists working in Europe before the First World War. Born in Saint-Jean-de-Braye near Orléans in France, he arrived in London in 1911 and quickly became associated with the most radical artistic circles of the period. Although his career lasted only a few years before his death at the age of twenty-three during the First World War, his influence on modern British sculpture proved profound and enduring.
