Angie Lewin | Cultivated Colour
Our short film takes us into Angie Lewin’s world, from her hillside garden in the Scottish Highlands to the studio where flowers, collected objects and the changing seasons become richly layered watercolours. Look at the growing, gathering and drawing, and the close relationship between Lewin’s garden and a remarkable new body of work.
Cultivated Colour is an exhibition of over fifty new watercolours celebrates the flowers Lewin grows in her Scottish hillside garden, with the help of a trusty Shetland-designed polytunnel well suited to such an exposed location. Bright, exotic dahlias, parrot tulips, agapanthus and pelargoniums appear in still life compositions alongside her eclectic collection of ceramics and decorative papers, their patterns flowing and mingling with leaves, stems and flowers.
